About

There’s no safe or easy way to describe 34-year-old David Evans.
But then again, “safe and easy” have never been words that aptly describe his approach to forging new business opportunities. Suffice it to say David can best be described as a compulsive entrepreneur, having started his first business (a residential painting company) at the ripe age of 19.
During his college years, he worked for a systems integrator designing and developing software systems for small to medium-sized businesses, including travel agencies, light manufacturing concerns, attorneys, accountants, and telemarketers.
David parlayed this diverse experience, along with a brief stint with a dot-com company during the bubble, into the creation of his second enterprise—Geode Software—during the year 2000 at age 22. Geode Software is an application development and consulting firm built around the simple precept that technology should either make—or save—you money.
One of the first initiatives of Geode Software was to develop a proprietary POS system and automated inventory control for the nascent on-line ticketing industry. While the product did not achieve widespread distribution, this hands-on ticketing systems experience allowed gave him knowledge and insight that he leveraged into the creation of his own on-line ticketing company during his spare time in 2005.
That company, EasySeat, grew by double and triple digits every year, and in 2010, was ranked #176 the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing private companies in America. By that measure, EasySeat was the fastest growing company in Connecticut as well.
In 2010, David launched Geode Ventures, a business consulting and investment firm providing seed-stage capital investment as well as startup and management consulting to early stage technology and web companies. In 2011, David was named to Connecticut Magazine’s “40 under 40” list of emerging civic and business leaders across the state.
David is married to his remarkable wife Kinga and lives in Bristol, Connecticut.
